Author, artist, movie writer, and all around story guru Neil Gaiman has added a new block onto the already stunning wall of achievements he has been able to accomplish. That block, is having his very own online comic. With other well know works in the field of comics as Sandman and Stardust; the creation of his own online comic “The Day the Saucers Came” not only created a buzz for Neil Gaiman fans, but also gave Infinite Canvas(created by Microsoft Live Labs) the push it needed for wide spread publicity.  Click the link for more about the Infinite Canvas and Neil Gaiman.

The creation of Infinite Canvas was made to allow aliens to finally want to come to our planet and stay for more than just probes… Well not really, it was made for the purpose of online comics. The canvas allows for as many photos as the creator wants to be placed on the screen. When going to the next frame, a photo can be generated or slid into view. This allows for a new dimension to be added to the fun of reading comics. The ability to zoom in and out, allow for disappearing images and maybe a few hidden pictures, make the possibilities of this program almost limitless.

Also, everyone on this site has probably heard of, seen, or read one of Neil Gaiman’s works ranging from Beowolf, Neverwhere, or even the new movie Coraline. So if you have the time, read his and a few other free comics.
