It’s my birthday and I’ll post what I want to. Today, I want to post about the awesome computer-guitar hybrid dubbed the “Fender Bender”. It’s no longer packed with Fender parts but the parts of a unknown (possibly crazy) synth music maker. Thank you Crunch Gear for finding it and Gizmodo for shouting at us about it. Sadly, there’s no video or audio from the cool tag team device but hopefully the creator will release something. Hit the link for more pics of the “Fender Bender”.
Remedy, the makers of the Max Payne series, just released this cinematic and mysteriously intriguing trailer for their newest release: Alan Wake. Here’s an excerpt straight from the official Alan Wake site that sums the game up nicely:
What is alan Wake
Alan Wake, a bestselling writer,
hasn't managed to write anything
in over two years. Now his wife,
Alice, brings him to the idyllic
small town of Bright Falls to
recover his creative flow. But
when she vanishes with a trace,
Wake finds himself trapped in a
nightmare.
Word by word, his latest work, a
thriller he can't even remember
writing, is coming true before his
eyes.
As long as the sketchy “knee graphics” from the trailer get fixed, this game (exclusive to Xbox 360 and Windows Vista) looks to be extremely promising.
Re-locate the other soft plushes to a safe zombie-proof bunker because here comes the Dismember-Me Plush Zombie horde! He’s got his quintessential freshly torn zombie suit and a “karate chop” action brain. ThinkGeek also made his head and limbs detachable so my zombie war reenactments look more realistic. Hit the link for a video and tons of action pics.
“The Neo-Geo was an amazing and amazingly expensive machine and so SNK decided to keep the amazing bit, remove the expensive part and add some pretty annoying loading times by coming up with the Neo-Geo CD. An impressive 2D CD-based powerhouse with a ton of AES/MVS ports that was actually affordable and didn’t need them overpriced cartridges. Apparently, it’s even more so now. Try this Neo Geo CD & 9 games eBay auction and see what I mean. Seller ships worldwide. Grab this for less than 200$, 150 euros or 115 pounds and consider yourself lucky. Grab it for its current price and throw a party.”
This is a Neo Geo CD console from Japan. It includes a Top Loading CD console and 9 CD games. Everything is in used condition with some scratches/scuffs, but everything has been tested and is in good working order. This is a great option if you want Neo Geo gaming without paying for a mint system!
Update: Some lucky SOB snatched it up for only $74 (not including $15 shipping). Well, hit the link anyway for all the games I would have rubbed in my friend’s faces if I’d been smart enough to bid.
The best puzzle game ever created is coming out on it’s very own to the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday. The bonus news is that it’s coming out with new levels! I can’t wait to bend my mind around new Portal “obstacles” and hear the little turrets ask me “Are you still there?”. Trust me, I’m there!
GamerScoreBlog had this to say about Portal’s “re-release”:
You are invited to return to the Aperture Science Enrichment Center this Wednesday, October 22 at 9 a.m. GMT (2:00 a.m. PDT) via Xbox LIVE Arcade. Due to the unforeseen conclusion of your last visit, all necessary precautions have been taken to ensure that “Portal: Still Alive” is a sanitary, objective, and mostly non-lethal testing environment.
In addition to the original award winning first-person puzzle experience, Aperture Science is proud to provide 14 new challenge maps exclusive to Xbox LIVE Arcade. Six advanced maps will also be provided to help guide you along the way.
Though prior test subjects proved to be unstable and may have presented false information, Aperture Science is pleased to inform you that your cake is indeed waiting for you and that the Weighted Companion Cube misses you in your absence.
