From Flight of the Conchords, this is a song devoted to a band mate that’s a little down. There’s nothing wrong with a heterosexual guy singing for another heterosexual guy. It’s just a fellow friend singing a song to help out with some self-esteem issues, right?

He’s awesome at cards, he’s not afraid of guns, and he’s Italy’s only hope!  Don’t get in his way unless you want your head squeezed into snakes.  Here’s the link in case there’s a need for more Italian karate action.

This amazing short film (from Danny Brown at Sensei Studios) was actually made back in 2004 but that doesn’t make it any less new to me.  The video is shown entirely in reverse motion which allows for some cool tricks by the main character to appear as though he’s moving rocks with his mind.  I’m sure some of these “telekinesis” shots took hours to set up and even longer to perfect.  The beginning is a little slow but stick with it, it gets better.  Thanks to Dave Schumaker from LaughingSquid for the recommendation on this great video.

Here’s Rainn Wilson (from The Office) singing “a timeless classic children’s song about the magic of childbirth” on the “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!”.  The juxtaposition of Rainn’s head on a kid’s body is a little creepy but why else would it be so funny?

Also, be extremely careful if this song gets stuck in your head like me.  I was singing this out loud in an elevator full of people and it got a little awkward.  Those people just need to loosen up about micturating in the elevator.

It’s almost common knowledge that Twitter is one of the best methods of communication today.  So why is it that robots don’t “get with the program”?  Last weekend Doctor Popular organized and participated in the 24 Hour Comic challenge at The Comic Outpost.  The challenge is to create an entire comic within a 24 hour period.  Over half the participants finished within the allotted time and Doctor Popular has suggested that some of them will get digitalized as well.

Files from DocPop.org:
24 Page PDF file (recommended and viewable from iPhone)
24 Gifs in one zip file
Robots Don’t Know Anything About Twitter flickr set.
Robot Friend demo (unrelated song that I constantly have to bring up every time I talk about robots)

The entire event was livestreamed on Ustream and here’s a couple of highlight reels.  Also, make sure you hit the link below for a video on the final touches of the comic and a couple of my favorite pages from “Robots Don’t Know Anything About Twitter”.

There’s really not much here unless you own an Xbox 360 and have a love for Beta testing fresh software.  However, I have both of those things so I signed up as quickly as possible.  All they need is your Xbox 360 console ID (find it in the system settings of your Xbox 360).  Head to the Microsoft Connect page, sign in with your Windows LIVE ID and join the “Xbox 360 Fall 2008 Preview Program” (or hit this link:  Link ).

The wait time should be about a week before you get the e-mail to whether you made it or not but I would fill out the form quickly before the spots fill up.

Update:  Sadly, all the spots for the Beta program have been filled.  Good luck to everyone that made it in on time.
